Smartmunkee is an independent electronic musician, composer & producer based in beautiful Cornwall, England, UK.

 

He has been composing music since his early 20s with his first tracks created on an Amiga 500 with a Stereo Master sampler, a Yamaha TG55 synth module, and a Casio midi keyboard. He has continued pursuing his passion for creating unique music and defining his own sound, often with tracks that build and incorporate a catchy riff.

'I am a visual musician and by that, I mean that I see music as well as hear it. Music creation for me is like painting a picture except using a palette of sound rather than paint, starting with a blank canvas and gradually adding ideas layer by layer until your ideas evolve into something interesting.'

'Music should take you on a journey, having a start and a destination, with ever-changing scenes in between,  captivating the listener as they progress."

His music spans multiple genres; electronic, cinematic, breakbeat, darkwave, chill, and lofi.

His tracks have been featured on Dandelion Radio and Thomas Imposter Records Compilation Album M1 X3.

Smartmunkee also co-hosts The Underground Sound show alongside the show's founders DJ X Tech & Carlos Fandango reviewing a vast range of music by independent artists. "The music industry is tough and it's hard to get heard without throwing major money at it so we are here to just add that little help and inspiration for artists trying to get noticed."
